Hey Tyco…I’ll Teach You What’s Wrong With Brinks/Broadview Security’s Online Advertising

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

ISC Education Online Learning SeriesTyco International announced yesterday that they were buying Broadview Security, formerly known as Brink’s Home Security.

The timing of the announcement couldn’t be better. Today, January 19th, I’m going to show why the people involved with paid search advertising decisions at Broadview Security should be FIRED.

You can get all the details FREE in a webinar I am doing for ISC Education titled, “8 Things You Can Do Right Now To Improve Website Results in 2010.” In this action packed hour, I’ll show you in an easy-to-understand, easy-to-apply fashion what you can do to generate more leads and sales via internet and automated marketing. I’ll also clearly demonstrate basic online advertising and landing page mistakes that are robbing Broadview Security of hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in annual profits.

You can attend the webinar free but you must pre-register with ISC Education. Here’s the registration link at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/630941257.

And you guys at TYCO…your ADT online advertising and landing page optimization isn’t that much better than Broadview Security’s. You guys (and gals) can benefit from this webinar as well!

An Easy Way To Get Facebook User Demographics For Your City

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Discover the number of users already using Facebook in your city that are waiting to connect with your company.

Are your customers already on Facebook just waiting for an easy way to connect with you?

There’s a fast and easy way to find out. Here’s how:

  • After logging in to Facebook, click the Ads and Pages button. It’s the second leftmost button at the bottom of your screen.

  • Next click Create an Ad button. It’s the big green one near the top right of the screen.

  • On the next screen type in any Destination URL (I use google.com). You will also need to type in a Title and Body Text. It doesn’t matter what you type here as you won’t be using it. Once you’ve typed something, click Continue.

  • Now you can enter in the demographics you’re interested in. To narrow by city, click the circle By City next to the Location options and type in your city.  Be sure to select whether you want to include cities within 50 miles of your city as well.

  • Check or type in any other characteristics of your market that you want to include in your user demographic estimate.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the Estimate:. This is the number of active Facebook users that Google estimates fit into your demographic selection. Here’s a sample estimate I got:
